Areas of Competency

We’ve instructed Synthia by defining rules about many parts of SynthEyes.

- Menus. For example, say file new or play in reverse (try rules producing a menucmd).

- Rooms and panels. solver room will switch you there.

- Run the exporters. export to lightwave. Try rules producing an exportstr.

- Attributes of trackers, meshes, cameras, moving objects, lights, notes.

camera 1's field of view.

- Preferences. set the autoplace preference to on .

- Activity (events) taking place in SynthEyes, such as dialogs opening and buttons being pushed.

And it has rules about general capabilities too:

- Buttons (and spinners, edit fields, dropdowns). click ok or click the "square pix" button . (Attributes are preferred over trying to change spinners etc directly)

- Multi-step procedures

- Alarms, reminders, timers. remind me in 10 minutes to call the client

- Colors, from alice white to yellow green.

- Files and folders. all files in the current folder

- Operations on text strings. first five characters of the selected tracker's name

- Operations on 2-d points, 3-d vectors, rotation angles (pan, tilt, roll), and transform matrices. camera 1's pan angle

- Mathematics functions such as square root and tangents. what is the square root of 23?

That makes for a lot of functionality!

Exercise: what are the room names?

Exercise: how many colors are there?
