Linux Setup

Unfortunately, Linux does not offer a suitable voice recognizer at present.

Synthia can be commanded by keyboard of course.

For text to speech setup, start your operating system's package manager. Look for packages associated with "Festival." It is already included in CentOS 6. In addition to the basic package, you may be able to select additional voices. The current Linux packages seem to have much older and lower quality voices than those available from the Festival web site demo. You may be able to get higher-quality voices from the Festival website or third-party sites. Festival is not a part of Synthia; we cannot provide additional support or higher-quality voices for it.
