Tracking AprilTags

AprilTags tracking is launched from the Track/AprilTags Detector menu item, presenting a control panel such as this:

Select the Tag family and what you want (Mode), click OK, and the tag detection is off and running with an ongoing status report. (See the following sections for controls applicable to various activities, and the AprilTags Reference for item-by-item details.)

AprilTags detection is applied to the Playback Range of frames in the current shot: the frames between the little green and red triangles in the time bar. New detections are merged with any existing ones; you won’t see duplicate Tag1’s, for example.

You can enter a comma-separated list of tag numbers into the Allowed codes field. For example, enter “2,3,4” if you are only using those three tags, which will allow any other spurious tag numbers to be ignored.

You may also notice the Minimum valid frames setting, which is used to reject spurious false positive detections. You may need to adjust it downwards if your shot is short, or to zero if there is only a single frame of interest.
