PATH Environment Variable and Multiple Script Directories

You can specify multiple -scripts directories for SynthEyes to look for scripts in.

Or, you can configure a SYNTHEYES_SCRIPT_PATH environment variable to tell SynthEyes where to look for scripts. On Windows, this should be

a semicolon-separated list of folders; on Mac and Linux it should be colon- separated.

The last directory that contains a given script is used, in the following

order:

- The SynthEyes "system" script folder, ie File/System script folder. Note that this folder can be changed using the folder preferences section of the preferences panel.

- In the folders listed in the SYNTHEYES_SCRIPT_PATH environment variable, searched left to right.

- In the folders given as -scripts arguments, searched first to last.

- In the SynthEyes "user" script folder, ie File/User script folder.

Again, the last such folder wins, ie if the script can be found in the user's

folder, it will override anything else by design. Don't repeat the standard locations in the SYNTHEYES_SCRIPT_PATH or as a -scripts argument.

Note: Scripts are scanned at startup and in response to File/Find new scripts; there is no literal search as described above.

Tip : You can move the root folder where SynthEyes stores all the user’s preferences, scripts, temporary files, etc by setting the environment variable SYNTHEYES_USER_FOLDER. This might allow it to be in a more visible place, or in a network share.
